Our Trip: Day 2

Well, today was a slow day. We took it easy but had a lot of fun. A professional bass fishing tournament started today. About half of the contestants are staying at our hotel; the other half are at the inn next door. I don't know if you've ever seen the boats and trucks owned/operated by these fishermen, but they are seriously cool. Neat designs, cool color schemes, you name it. These guys are very outgoing and friendly too. They were quite the chatty bunch as they passed out koozies, lanyards, baseball caps, patches, etc. Ellas was a very happy camper! I took some pics that I will post as soon as I figure out how. lol

We went bowling before lunch. That was loads of fun. I'm pretty sure that Scott hasn't been in at least 10 years, maybe longer. He's pretty good at it. I won the first game, and Scott won the next two. Ellas was either on fire or in the gutter. No in-between for him. Bren... well, let's just say he had fun, but he won't be turning pro anytime soon. :)

We came back and watched movies in the room for a while. Then it was time for the cookout by the pool. Apparently, our hotel does this all summer long, and today was this year's first one. Fun times!! Ellas swam while Scott and I talked. Bren fiddled with his mp3 player. After our delicious free burgers, for dessert, we went to a fantastic McDonald's that is loaded with all kinds of memorabilia. They have old toys, signed sports equipment, Elvis and Beatles' gold records framed with autographs, too much stuff to name. Again, I have pics to post.

Now, the guys are in bed, and I need to be. We have to get an early start tomorrow. We are going to a bug museum before we head home. Again, fun times!

I love vacationing in places that you wouldn't normally vacation. It seems like you have the most fun and less stress. One of the things I hate the most is stressing when I'm on vacation. I hate feeling like I have to squeeze in every activity in order to feel like I've had fun. Glad you guys could get away, it sounds awesome. Hope your hubby had a great birthday too!

I also love hearing stories about your mom from you and Crissy. Be safe coming home!
