Catchin' Up

I know that it has been a while since I blogged. A lot has happened since then.

We had our version of VBS; it's called Camp Cornerstone. We had a blast!!! We had planned for 100 kids. We actually ended up having between 105-110 kids. There were rugrats everywhere you looked. I'm pretty sure they all had fun and learned a lot too. As a volunteer, this one week a year can be exhausting, exhilarating, and edifying. (Alright Steve Morgan, how was that ?) The kids are all so eager to learn and to please. There were no problems with the kids that I know of.

Dad's birthday was yesterday. He is now 57. He's much younger at heart, where it counts. My kids adore him, my husband looks up to him, and I love him to pieces. My Daddy is really a neat guy. Ask anyone who's ever met him, and they'll tell you all kinds of wonderful things about him.

My hubby is obsessing over our back deck. The problem is WE DON'T HAVE ONE!!! I know that this seems trivial in the grand scheme of things, but right now, in my house, this is a very big deal. He wants to build a deck to be proud of, that he can take the grandkids out on and say "I built this when your daddy was a young man, and look how good it still looks." Scott doesn't do things halfway. He wants perfection and is disappointed in himself if he produces anything less. What a wonderful blessing God has given me in Scott!!!

It's really late, and I have to be up in about 6 hours. I need to sleep now.
