My Thankful List

Here is a brief, and not exhaustive, list of what I am thankful for.

1.) My wonderful husband who not only puts up with me, but truly loves me. Loves me in spite of my lack of logic, no coherent train of thought, and horrible memory. Wow!

2.) My kids, nieces, and nephews who are eight of my greatest blessings in this life. (I am including Kayla and Melody because I feel like they are mine also.) Brody is snuggling with me in my big, comfy chair. Sometimes I am overwhelmed with love for our kids.

3.) My sister who is my twin in every way, except timing of birth. It is funny how often we show up in the same outfit without planning of any kind. We finish each other's sentences and can anticipate each other's needs/wants. Sometimes very spooky. G, our associate pastor, calls us Thing 1 and Thing 2.

4.) My church family who are so incredibly loving and accepting. There have been several times that I don't know how we would have made it without them. God definitely uses the church body to minister to us. Dad and Bren's wreck, Mom's death, Ellas' near fatal illness, these are just a few.

5.) Chocolate, a gift from God.

6.) White chocolate, a blessing from God.

7.) Dark chocolate. I am convinced this will be part of the feast in Heaven.

8.) My friend in Georgia, Tricia. Best friend in high school and beyond, she is as close as a sister to me. She calls my parents Pop and Mom. We are godparents to each other's kids. How have I made it the last few years without her?!

I just realized that I could go on for days and not finish. I'm going to stop for now.

I, too, am thankful for you. You are the mysterious other part of my life. No one can make me laugh as hard or as consistently. I love you, Thing 2.

BTW, thanks for helping me spell 'consistently' just now.

What a beautiful list, Kim. I loved reading it. I am convinced that there will be an abundance of chocolate in heaven too! You are so blessed with a sister too, cherish that relationship forever. My mother lost her closest sister several years ago and my sister in law lost her sister a couple of years ago. It is a special bond. I probably do not have to remind you of that. Always treasure each other and nurture your relationship. And I also love my neices just as much as I love my son. I am thankful for all my children!
